Nepal is scenic and it’s just geared for tourism. An hour flight from Delhi or one hour drive from Siliguri is Nepal’s bordering hamlet Kakabhitta, it is a Himalayan kingdom bordered by the People's Republic of China to the north and India to the south, east and west. Kathmandu is the capital city. It is an ultimate destination for a trekking, offering from easy and short excursions to the long challenges of the snowy peaks, to the Himalayan Expedition. The country is known for tourism, trekking, hiking, camping, mountain biking, wildlife parks, jungle safaris, river rafting and for its beautiful temples. About half of all tourists visiting Pokhara are there for the start or end of a trek to the Annapurna Base Camp and Mustang. Festivals like Shivaratri, Gai Jatra, Bhairab Naach (Bhairab dance) and Krishnastami add colors to the beauty of Nepal. Lesser known places like Patan, Lumbini and Tansen are known for their natural beauty and as religious center.

The major tribes are the Gurung, Magars, Rais, Limbus, Sunuwars, Sherpas, Newars, Tharus, Yadavas, Satar, Rajvanshis and Dhimals, Chhetris and Thakuris. The major wildlife reserves are Chitwan, Bardia and Sukla Phanta. Mammals found here are elephant, wild boar, bison, Royal Bengal tiger, langur, deer, the sloth bear, leopard, one - horned rhinoceros, etc. The forests support a variety of fauna approximately around 350 species of birds, it’s also is known in the birding circuit.

Communication / Connectivity

Airways – Visit to Nepal from Siliguri is simple, its an hour drive. One can drive to Kakarbhitta (Nepal - India border) 37 kilometers by road. From kakarbhitta drive 35 kilometers to Bhadrapur. From Bhadrapur one can fly to Kathmandu or Biratnagar. One can also avail flight from other airports of India. Flight from Bhutan and Delhi is also available.

Railways – There is no railway system in Nepal but one can reach any of the bordering town of Nepal by availing Indian Railways. The railway stations near the bordering town are used by most of the people of Nepal and India. Travelling in Nepal is solely dependent on either road or by air.

Roadways – Visit to Nepal from Siliguri one can drive to Kakarbhitta (Nepal - India border) 37 kilometers by road. Buses to Kathmandu are available from Kakarvitta, Bhadrapur and all the towns of Nepal. Private vehicles and shared vehicles are also available. From kakarbhitta one can drive 35 kilometers to Bhadrapur for availing flight. One can avail the Bus / Coach to Kathmandu or can drive to Kathmandu from Kakarbhitta. Its overnight journey.
