Duration - 17 Nights and 18 Days
Day - 01 - Drive - Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) - 130 Kilometres / 4 Hours – Gangtok – You will be received by our official at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – He will assist you for the forwarding journey to Gangtok (120 Kilometres, 4 hours) - A perfect destination for tourist in search of enchantment, tranquility, trekking or any other adventure - It is a Land of monastery and mystic rituals / festivals - Situated at an elevation of 1,437 meters / 4,715 feet, is the most often visited spot of India for its rare Orchids and Butterflies - In the evening one is free to stroll around M.G.Marg - Over night stay at Gangtok.
Day – 2 – Drive - Early morning breakfast - Visit to Tsomgo / Changu Lake and Baba Mandir, cool, serene water and the picturesque beauty - A temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside - Primula flowers and other alpine plantation provide an immaculate beauty to this place - Till April it is full of snow and lay frozen. Back to hotel for lunch or lunch on the way - Visit to flower show - Evening one is free to stroll around - Over night stay at Gangtok.
Day - 3 - Drive - Gangtok - Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) 125 kilometres, 6 - 7 hours. – One has to pass through Tashi View Point, Kabi Lungtsok, Phodong Monastery, Mangan and Chungthang, approximately 95 kilometres. Lunch at Chungthang - Chungthang is a small settlement among the alpine meadow – 30 kilometres from Chungthang is Lachen - Check in at hotel at Lachen - Being remote the hotels here are with the basic necessities only - So its time to pack one’s bag and get ready to trek – Over night stay at hotel in Lachen
Day - 4 - Trek - Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) - Talem (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet, 5 - 6 hours) – After breakfast, drive towards Zema (20 minutes). The trek starts from Zema to Talem along the Zemu River towards west - The going in this section is usually slow as the path travels through water logged Rhododendron thickets and fallen tree trunks - Lunch at Talem - Afternoon free for exploring the area - Refreshment and dinner - Retire – Over night stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
Day - 5 - Trek - Talem (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) - Jakthang (3176 meters / 10,419 feet, 4 - 5 hours) - This route is a walk in the paradise passing varieties of Rhododendron varying in colors from white to the red and scrubs of not more than a foot - Some of the most magnificent forest areas for which Sikkim is famous for lies in this route - Cross a bridge to climb steadily through forest – Lunch, evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – Over night in Hotel in Lachen.
Day – 6 - Trek - Jakthang (3176 meters / 10,419 feet) - Yabuk (3978 meters / 13,051 feet, 4 ½ - 5 hours - The trail is through forest and after a short climb it crosses a log bridge over Thomphyak Chu - One has to descend to the bank of the river Zemu Chu and follow the trail beside the river - The path to Yabuk climbs through the forest and after about three hours of steady walking you reach the snout of the Zemu glacier - It is a small but beautiful camping area very cold and windy near the glacier - Lunch – Evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – Overnight in Camp.
Day - 7 - Trek - Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet - Rest Camp - 4570 meters / 14,994 feet) - 5 hours - The path from Yabuk to Rest Camp follows the Zemu Glacier - The trail is through moraine field of the Zemu Glacier, crossing boulders and pebbles - As the trail opens into the valley the great peaks come into view - The Rest Camp is situated just opposite Mount Siniolchu which is one of the most beautiful peak of Sikkim Lunch – Evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – Over night in Camp.
Day - 8 - Trek - Rest Camp - (4570 meters / 14,994 feet) - Green Lake - (4935 meters / 16000 feet - 4 - 5 hours) - The trail gently climbs up the valley. On a clear day best view around green lake are Mount Siniolchu, Mount Simvo, Mount Kanchendzonga, Mount Kabru and Mount Chomolhari this is one of the most beautiful walks in the Himalaya - This is a memory to be cherished Lunch – Evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – Over night in camp.
Day – 9 - Exploration day hike to Zemu Glacier (5600 meters / 18373 feet) back to Green Lake, 3 - 4 hours- The trail gently climbs up the valley. On a clear day best view around green lake are Mount Siniolchu, Mount Simvo, Mount Kanchendzonga, Mount Kabru and Mount Chomolhari this is one of the most beautiful walks in the Himalaya – There are many a lake around the Zemu glacier visible from here - Memory to be cherished - Lunch – Evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – Over night in camp.
Day - 10 - Trek - Green Lake (5050 meters / 16,568 feet) - Theulacha (5200 meters / 17,060 feet) or Tangchung La (5212 meters / 17100 feet) via Goechala (4949 meters / 16,237 feet) - The area offers a closer view of mount Kanchendzonga with panoramic views of other peaks of the mighty Himalayan range - The scenic beauty of the exotic natural splendor and dramatic terrain will mesmerizing - One can spot Musk Deer, Red Panda and Blue Sheep - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut - Refreshment and dinner - Over night retire in camp.
Day - 11 - Trek - Theulacha- 5200 meters / 17,060 feet - Dolmasampa (4462 meters / 14,640 feet) via Langbo - The road is easy to negotiate - The views are enjoyable and are easy to trek this route as the descent and ascent are uniform. The route is best to enjoy the varieties of rhododendron and high altitude plant life and birdwatchers. Evening refreshment and then retire in camp after dinner - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut - Refreshment and dinner – Over night retire in camp.
Day - 12 - Trek - Dolmasampa (4462 meters / 14,640 feet) - Muguthang (4520 meters / 14,830 feet) - One has to pass through place known as Teblhe and Zakung - One has to proceed to Muguthang – Muguthang is situated by the side of river Naku Chu - The place is known for varieties of rhododendron with other high altitude plant life - This trek is also known in the birding circuit - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut - Refreshment and dinner - Retire in camp.
Day - 13 - Trek - Muguthang (4520 meters / 14,830 feet) - Thangu in Chopta (3920 meters / 12,861 feet) - One will come across the river Chopta Chu - The trek is comparatively easy – The area is known as the Chopta valley - Thangu is the name of a hamlet and probably the only settlement extreme north of Sikkim - The region is rich in flora and fauna - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut - Refreshment and dinner - Retire in camp.
Day - 14 -Trek - Thangu in Chopta (3920 meters / 12,861 feet) to Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) 5 - 6 hours - Situated by the side of river Lhasa Chu - The route is invigorating and exhilarating - Words fail to explain the experience of being in this trek. The trek passes through the dense coniferous forests and one will be mesmerized by the brilliant flora and fauna – The day is physically bit tiring - Evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – overnight in Hotel in Lachen.
Day - 15 - Drive - Lachen to Gangtok - Early morning breakfast - On the way visit Phodong Monastery - The road from Lachung has rhododendron lined along the way makes a fantastic view more if its March and April (Rhododendrons are in full bloom during this period) - Check in hotel at Gangtok - Evening free to visit M.G.Marg for shopping - Over night stay at hotel in Gangtok
Day – 16 – Early morning breakfast – Transfer to Darjeeling - (115 kilometres 3 ½ - 4 hours) – Darjeeling - At an elevation of 2123 meters / 70001 feet, the land of breathtaking beauty, amidst rolling tea gardens, crowned by the majestic Himalayas popularly known as the Queen of the hills - Jewel in the crown of the Eastern Himalayas with mesmerizing beauty offers spectacular views of the Mount Everest, Mount Kanchendzonga and the rest of spectacular Himalayan range. Check in to hotel – Stroll to Mall / shrubbery Park - Over night stay at hotel in Darjeeling.
Day - 17 - Early morning visit to Tiger hills – The day’s excursion start at 0345 hours to enjoy sunrise - Return at 0700 hours route Batasia Loop of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway and War Memorial - Back to hotel for breakfast, visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu Park. Back to hotel for lunch or lunch on the way - After lunch visit to Rock garden and Gangamaiya Park - Over night stay at Darjeeling.
Day – 18 – Drive to Siliguri - Early morning breakfast - Next one has to drive to Siliguri, on the way to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) (100 kilometres, 2 ½ hours) - Tour ends.
