Duration - 13 Nights and 14 Days
Day 01 - Drive - Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) - 130 Kilometres / 4 Hours – Gangtok – You will be received by our official at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – He will assist you for the forwarding journey to Gangtok (120 Kilometres, 4 hours) - A perfect destination for tourist in search of enchantment, tranquility, trekking or any other adventure - It is a Land of monastery and mystic rituals / festivals. Situated at an elevation of 1,437 meters / 4,715 feet, is the most often visited spot of India - It is home to rare Orchids and Butterflies – Check in to Hotel - In the evening free to stroll around M. G. Marg - Over night stay at Gangtok.
Day – 2 – Drive - Early morning breakfast - Visit to Tsomgo / Changu Lake and Baba Mandir, cool, serene water and the picturesque beauty - A temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside - Primula flowers and other alpine plantation provide an immaculate beauty to this place - Till April it is full of snow and lay frozen - Back to hotel for lunch or lunch on the way - Visit to flower show - Evening free to stroll around - Over night stay at Gangtok.
Day - 3 - Drive - Gangtok - Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) 125 kilometres, 6 - 7 hours – Passing through Tashi View Point, Kabi Lungtsok, Phodong Monastery, Mangan and Chungthang, approximately 95 kilometres - Lunch at Chungthang - Chungthang stands on an alpine meadow – approximately 30 kilometres from Chungthang is Lachen - Check in at hotel at Lachen. Being remote the hotels here are with the basic necessities only - So its time to pack one’s bag and get ready to soak to the spirit.
Day - 4 - Trek - Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) - Tallem (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet, 8 kilometres, 5 - 6 hours) – After breakfast, drive towards Zema (20 minutes). The trek starts from Zema to Tallem along the Zemu River towards west. The going in this section is usually slow as the path travels through water logged Rhododendron thickets and fallen tree trunks - Lunch at Talem - Afternoon free for exploring the area - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
Day - 5 - Trek - Tallem (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) - Jakthang (3176 meters / 10,419 feet, 5 kilometres, 4 - 5 hours). This route is a walk in the paradise passing varieties of Rhododendron varying in colors from white to the red and scrubs of not more than a foot - Some of the most magnificent forest areas for which Sikkim is famous for lies in this route - Cross a bridge to climb steadily through forest - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
DAY – 6 - Trek - Jakthang (3176 meters / 10,419 feet) - Yabuk (3978 meters / 13,051 feet, 8 kilometres, 4 ½ - 5 hours - The trail is through forest and after a short climb it crosses a log bridge over Thomphyak Chu - One has to descend to the bank of the river Zemu Chu and follow the trail beside the river - The path to Yabuk climbs through the forest and after about three hours of steady walking you reach the snout of the Zemu glacier - It is a small but beautiful camping area very cold and windy near the glacier - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
Day 07 - Trek - Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet - Rest Camp - 4570 meters / 14,994 feet), 5kilometres - 5 hours - The path from Yabuk to Rest Camp follows the Zemu Glacier - The trail is through moraine field of the Zemu Glacier, crossing boulders and pebbles - As the trail opens into the valley the great peaks come into view - The Rest Camp is situated just opposite Mount Siniolchu which is one of the most beautiful peak of Sikkim - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
DAY - 8 - Trek - Rest Camp - (4570 meters / 14,994 feet) - Green Lake - (4935 meters / 16000 feet, 4 kilometres, 4 - 5 hours) - The trail gently climbs up the valley - On a clear day best view around green lake are Mount Siniolchu, Mount Simvo, Mount Kanchendzonga, Mount Kabru and Mount Chomolhari this is one of the most beautiful walks in the Himalaya - This is a memory to be cherished - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
Day – 09 - Trek – From Green Lake (4935 meters /16000 feet) one has to trek to Zemu Glacier (5600 meters / 18648 feet) and back – Rest Day at an altitude of 4935 meters / 16000 feet – There is a feeling like staying at the top of the world - Sight from Green Lake is fascinating – Day spent lazing in the sun watching the panoramic view of the Great Mountain of the Himalayan Range - Climb for a couple of an hour to the hill adjacent to the Green Lake where one will get the view of the Mount Kanchendzonga and Mount Chomolhari and a number of lake formed by Zemu glacier - Spring and summer treks are of interest to birdwatchers and viewing flowering plants - October and November is best for clear weather and mountain views - The view is nice and the atmosphere serene and there is a chance that one extends the stay by a day - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut.
Day - 10 - Trek - Green Lake - (5050 meters / 16,568 feet) - to Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet, 5 ½ hours) Even though the area will attract you yet one has to leave early after breakfast - One has to make the trek from Green Lake to Yabuk in one day as the trail is mostly down hill and the descent is 1067 meters / 3500 feet - The road is nice and the trek easy - Refreshment and dinner - Retire - Overnight stay at Tent / Trekkers hut - Night halt at Yabuk.
Day - 11 - Trek - Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet) - to Talem - (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet, 5 - 6 hours) - A descent of nearly 800 meters. It is advisable to trek back towards Yabuk with moderate pace and enjoy the beauty of the trek - The view is nice and the atmosphere serene, you will enjoy the beauty around the place. Camping and snacks – dinner and retire in camp at Talem - Campfire can be arranged here but Lachen is preferable.
Day - 12 - Trek - Talem - (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) to Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet, 4 - 4 ½ hours) - The route is invigorating and exhilarating. Words fail to explain the experience of being in this trek. One will come across the varied flora and fauna of the region - The trek passes through the dense coniferous forests of Kanchendzonga National Park – This return journey is nostalgic – Evening snacks and Dinner by early night – Retire – overnight in Hotel in Lachen.
Day – 13 - Drive - Lachen to Gangtok - After breakfast leave for Gangtok, Visit Phodong Monastery if not visited earlier - The road from Lachung has rhododendron lined along the way makes a fantastic view - The best time to visit is in April & May, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom - It is considered one of the route of the state and has holy sites for both the Buddhists and the Hindus - Check in hotel at Gangtok – Refreshment and evening free – Stroll and visit the local shopping center in M. G. Marg – Dinner and over night stay at hotel in Gangtok
Day 14 - Drive – Gangtok to Siliguri – Early morning breakfast – Proceed to New Jalpaiguri Station Railway Station (NJP) / (IXB) Bagdogra Airport (100 Kilometres / 03 hours). Tour ends
