Note: The heart of town is Police Bazar (PB to locals) where seven roads meet at a hectic roundabout. Yellow-and-black shared taxis charge anywhere between ₹50 and ₹150 (negotiable) for trips of 02 to 03 kilometers. There's a stand at Police Bazar roundabout.

Cherrapunjee (also known as Sohra), sitting near the lip of the escarpments, is the base for exploring this spectacular landscape - Thanks to the prodigious monsoon rainfall produced by this geography Cherrapunjee was once feted as the wettest place on earth, though nearby Mawsynram is nowadays reckoned to be a few drops damper - Guests can visit Dwan Syiem view point, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc - Lunch on the way & Post lunch drive back to Shillong - On the way visit to Shillong Peak & Elephant Falls if time permits - Return to The Hotel / Resort  - Evening if time permits visit the local market (Police Bazar) - Night stay at Shillong

Note: It's known for its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the northeast, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point overlooks verdant gorges. In the surrounding hills, the Noh-Kalikai, Dain-Thlen and Kynrem waterfalls plunge from forested clifftops. South of town, Mawsmai Cave is illuminated to show its stalagmites. Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India.  One Night stay is always better. A day tour is hectic

Note: Instead of Shillong Sightseeing in the morning guests can opt for Mawphlang Sacred forest and then transfer to Guwahati. Mawphlang Sacred forest - has its roots steeped deep in the age-old religious beliefs, in which forests are regarded as a sacred entity - The local Khasi tribes have been preserving this forest for thousands of years, and believe it to be the abode of the local deity, called Labasa
