Bhaktapur - Situated in the east of Kathmandu in the Kathmandu Valley is this beautiful city called Bhaktapur. It is known by many names as the City of Devotees or the City of Culture or the Living Heritage or the Cultural Gem of Nepal. It is one of the 3 royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Cars are allowed in Durbar Square and no heavy vehicles are allowed in the square as grains laid out to dry in the sun, people collecting water or washing under the communal taps, dyed yarns hung out to dry, children's playing games, fascinating shops and women pounding grain are views one come across during the visit through the valley. Communication / Connectivity

Airways – Nearest Airport is Tribhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu. It has flights from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kochi, Goa, Hyderabad and many more places. There are international flights also. Visit to Nepal from Siliguri is simple, cheap and fastest. From Siliguri drive 65 kilometres to Bhadrapur take a flight to Kathmandu and then drive to Bhaktapur in half hour. If you plan in advance say 30-45 days in advance you may end up getting Kathmandu air tickets at low cost.

Railways – There is no railway system in Nepal but one can reach any of the bordering town of Nepal by availing Indian Railways. Travelling in Nepal is solely dependent on either road or by air. Bhaktapur is half an hour drive from Kathmandu

Roadways – Bhaktapur is nearly 20 kilometres east of Kathmandu. From Kathmandu one can drive 35 kilometres to Bhadrapur for availing flight. Bhaktapur is a neighbouring city of the capital city of Kathmandu and Lalitpur. One can reach by public transport like taxis and buses. One can drive to Bhaktapur from Kathmandu within 30 minutes by Car.
